Mastering the Art of Post-It Notes: Tips from Coach Rob Simons
Post-It notes are invaluable tools for organizing thoughts, prioritizing tasks, and enhancing productivity. Their versatility and simplicity make them essential for brainstorming sessions, project management, and everyday reminders. To maximize their effectiveness, Coach Rob Simons offers these expert tips:
- Use the sticky side at the top: Placing the sticky side at the top of the note prevents curling and ensures your notes stay flat and readable.
- Write with a Sharpie or thick marker: For better visibility, use a Sharpie or thick marker. This makes your notes stand out and easy to read at a glance.
- One idea per note: To help organize and prioritize your thoughts, write only one idea per note. This approach keeps your ideas clear and focused.
- Write large and clearly: Ensure your writing is large and legible. This improves readability and ensures your notes are easily understood by anyone.
- Don't stack Post-It Notes: When using multiple notes, place them in a single layer instead of stacking them on top of each other. This way, you can easily rearrange them and maintain better visual organization.

'AI Automation Contest'
Here's an exciting opportunity to improve your business processes using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and others.
We've had the pleasure of helping several clients execute the COACH.WIN 'AI Automation Contest', and the results have been amazing!
Each client has uncovered 50+ ideas for improvement, including simple toggles and apps that can be enabled, process improvements, roadblocks identified, and internal training on existing software.

Imagine walking into a room, knowing exactly where you need to be but without a map to guide you. That’s how many professionals, even the most successful ones, navigate their careers and targets — with ambition but without direction. This is where the transformative power of scorecards comes into play, not as a tool for reprimand, but as a compass for success.
Take the story of a top-tier salesperson skeptical about the introduction of scorecards in their routine. The fear? That these indicators would serve as a pretext for punitive measures or tough conversations. However, this perspective took a turn when the salesperson realized that scorecards aren’t a stick — they’re a rallying cry for support and celebration.
A scorecard is akin to a private wish-list of cities you yearn to explore. Without disclosing the destinations or desires, you ask someone to help you get there. The task seems insurmountable because the helper is in the dark, unaware of whether to book a flight to Omaha or a train to NYC. Amid the pandemic, a client had lost touch with his key customers, only to rediscover the value of consistent check-ins when a simple meeting led to three new business opportunities. His scorecard now includes a biannual touchpoint with his top 50 clients, a strategic reminder that ensures he’s always on the path to victory.
Scorecards should be viewed as a manifestation of help and celebration — a strategic tool to identify when you might be veering off course and when to rally the team to aid in realignment, and equally, to rejoice in the shared success.
